When vaudeville performer Don Hewes is dumped by his dancing partner Nadine, he vows to turn the next woman he meets into an equally big star. That woman is Hannah Brown, a clumsy but spirited chorus girl. As Don and Hannah develop their act, rivalries and romantic complications ensue, all building toward a triumphant stroll down Fifth Avenue on Easter Sunday.
