Synopsis
After the fall of Troy, the hero Aeneas arrives in Carthage and falls in love with Queen Dido. When the gods command him to leave and fulfill his destiny of founding Rome, Aeneas reluctantly departs. The abandoned Dido, consumed by grief and rage, takes her own life on a funeral pyre.
