In the winter of 1934, a group of lost souls converge at a guesthouse in Duluth, Minnesota, the birthplace of Bob Dylan. A bankrupt owner, his wife slipping into dementia, a preacher with dark secrets, a boxer in trouble, and a young couple with nowhere to go all search for warmth and connection as the Depression bears down. Conor McPherson's atmospheric play reimagines Bob Dylan's songs as the shared inner music of characters grasping for hope in hard times.
