Synopsis
Prince Hamlet of Denmark is haunted by his father's ghost, who reveals he was murdered by Hamlet's uncle Claudius, now married to Hamlet's mother. Dean's contemporary opera plunges into Hamlet's fractured psyche as he wrestles with revenge, madness, and the corruption of the Danish court. The score amplifies Shakespeare's language with a modernist soundworld of electronic manipulation and orchestral fury.
