Synopsis
Two wealthy couples meet at a dinner party that never seems to end, the guests cannot leave the room, and increasingly surreal events unfold as social masks slip and buried truths emerge. Stephen Sondheim's final musical, completed after his death with a book by David Ives, draws on the films of Luis Buñuel to create a darkly comic meditation on mortality, privilege, and the inescapable traps of polite society.
