Don Giovanni, the legendary libertine and seducer, pursues pleasure without conscience or restraint across the streets of Seville. His servant Leporello chronicles his conquests with sardonic detachment, while the Don's latest victim, Donna Anna, seeks vengeance for her seduction alongside her betrothed Don Ottavio. The mysterious Donna Elvira, abandoned by Giovanni years before, pursues him with equal measures of rage and longing. As the Don continues his relentless pursuit of the peasant girl Zerlina on her wedding day, the web of his transgressions tightens. The opera culminates in a supernatural reckoning when the statue of the Commendatore—Donna Anna's father, killed by Giovanni in a duel—accepts the Don's mocking dinner invitation, dragging him toward damnation and eternal punishment.
