Tether 인연 is a bilingual music theatre work that traces the interconnected destinies of three generations spanning 1919 to 1979, weaving together the stories of individuals across Korea and Scotland. Drawing on the emotional resonance of the Scottish folk song "Auld Lang Syne" and the Korean classic "Arirang," the production explores universal human experiences of love, loss, longing, farewell, and reunion. Through a sophisticated blend of traditional folk songs, live band accompaniment, theatrical storytelling, and dance, the work examines the concept of "inyeon"—the Korean notion of fate and destiny—as a bridge between two distinct cultures separated by geography yet united by shared emotional truths. The performance transcends linguistic boundaries to illuminate how separation and connection, memory and hope, resonate across generations and borders.
