Two African American brothers named Lincoln and Booth share a cramped boarding-house room, hustling to get by. Lincoln, the older brother, works as an Abraham Lincoln impersonator in an arcade where customers pretend to assassinate him, while Booth dreams of mastering the three-card monte con. Their sibling rivalry over money, women, and identity builds to a devastating climax that echoes the historical assassination their names invoke.
