Exilarte Award des IX. Internationalen Musikfests in Wien

The Exilarte Special Award will be presented as part of the IX. International Music Festival in Vienna 2026. The award is established with the support of the Exilarte Center at the mdw – University of Music and Performing Arts Vienna. The award encourages young musicians to rediscover and perform works by Austrian composers in exile whose music was once forgotten. It honors participants who demonstrate outstanding artistic expression, historical understanding, and depth of interpretation. No registration fee is charged for the Exilarte Special Award. The winner, either an individual or an ensemble, may choose one of the following options: A cash prize of EUR 6,000. An official invitation in a Winner’s Concert in Vienna. This invitation includes travel expenses, transportation costs.
