Operalia Foundation
Operalia is an international opera competition founded by Plácido Domingo that provides opportunities for gifted young singers regardless of economic means. The competition aims to lead not only to prizes but also to employment in opera ensembles around the world. It receives an average of 800 to 1,000 applications annually and selects top candidates to compete in person.
Open to opera singers of all voice categories who are in the early stages of their career. Applicants are evaluated by an Artistic Committee based on submitted audio recordings.
