Virginia B. Toulmin Foundation
The Virginia B. Toulmin Foundation supports the performing arts through grants and commissions, with a particular focus on developing and producing new work by women and nonbinary creators. The foundation invests in organizations that prepare girls and women for careers as composers, playwrights, and choreographers, and that commission and perform their work. The foundation has made grants across theater, opera, symphonic/orchestral music, ballet, and dance.
The foundation provides grants to organizations and institutions that support female and nonbinary creators in the performing arts, rather than direct grants to individual artists. Grants support the development and production of new musicals, operas, ballets, and theatrical works.
