California Arts Council
The California Creative Corps is a pilot program funded by a $60 million one-time General Fund allocation from the 2021 State Budget. It is a media, outreach, and engagement campaign designed to increase public health awareness messages to stop the spread of COVID-19, public awareness related to water and energy conservation, climate mitigation, and emergency preparedness, relief, and recovery, civic engagement including election participation, and social justice and community engagement. The program was designed to provide broad geographic reach across all 58 California counties while prioritizing communities with the highest levels of need as indicated by the California Healthy Places Index.
California-based arts organizations, administering organizations, artists, and cultural practitioners are eligible. Applicants must demonstrate strong, ongoing relationships with communities in the lowest quartile of the California Healthy Places Index and support meaningful engagements with those communities.
