About the show
Newly engaged couple Brad and Janet, stranded by a flat tire on a dark night, seek help at the castle of the bizarre scientist Dr. Frank-N-Furter, a sweet transvestite from Transsexual, Transylvania, where they encounter an outrageous world of gender-bending, horror-movie homage, and rock 'n' roll. Written and composed entirely by Richard O'Brien, the show premiered in London in 1973 and became one of the most beloved cult musicals in history.
