Bass-baritone
Russian
A Russian bass-baritone of rising international prominence, Dmitry Cheblykov has emerged from the Bolshoi Theatre's Young Artist Programme to establish himself as a compelling interpreter of the Russian operatic repertoire, with particular distinction in the dramatic roles of Verdi and Tchaikovsky.
Defining moments and milestones
Cheblykov emerged from the Bolshoi Theatre's Young Artist Programme to make his international debut in 2019 at the Rossini Festival, subsequently establishing himself across Europe's leading opera houses with a repertoire anchored in Russian dramatic roles and the Italian canon. His 2021 victory at the Elena Obraztsova International Competition marked his arrival as a major talent, leading to engagements at Glyndebourne, Den Norske Opera, Theater an der Wien, and Bayerische Staatsoper. Now in his early career ascendancy, he is consolidating a reputation as a bass-baritone of vocal substance and interpretive sophistication.
