Soprano (lyric coloratura)
Emilie Kealani is an emerging lyric coloratura soprano and Curtis Institute fellow whose crystalline voice and command of bel canto repertoire have earned critical acclaim across prestigious American opera venues.
Defining moments and milestones
A U.S. Presidential Scholar in the Arts who entered professional opera through the prestigious Santa Fe Opera Apprentice Artist Program in 2022, Emilie Kealani has rapidly established herself as a lyric coloratura soprano of crystalline clarity and technical command. Her performances across Curtis Opera Theatre, Glimmerglass Festival, and Santa Fe Opera—encompassing roles from Adina and Musetta to the more demanding Gilda and Lucia—have earned critical praise for their delicate precision and interpretive maturity. Now a Curtis Institute fellow and finalist in the 2025 Metropolitan Opera Laffont Competition, she stands at the threshold of a significant operatic career.
