Baritone
A versatile New York-based actor, puppeteer, director, and writer who earned Broadway recognition through his dual roles as Hercules Mulligan and James Madison in the original Broadway production of Hamilton.
Defining moments and milestones
Fergie L. Philippe trained rigorously in both classical acting methodology and musical theatre at New World School of the Arts and Elon University before establishing himself as a performer of considerable range across Broadway, national touring productions, and regional theatre. His breakthrough came through the national tour and subsequent Broadway run of Hamilton, where his dual characterization of Hercules Mulligan and James Madison positioned him within one of contemporary theatre's most significant cultural moments. Since then, he has cultivated a distinctive career spanning musical theatre leads (Coalhouse Walker Jr. in Ragtime, The Beast in Beauty and the Beast), Shakespearean roles, and pioneering work in theatrical puppetry, while maintaining an active presence in television and film.
