Lisette Oropesa is an American operatic soprano of Cuban ancestry. Her repertoire includes works from Gluck, Handel, Mozart, Rossini, Donizetti, Wagner, Verdi, Bizet, Massenet, Bellini and Puccini. With her lyric coloratura soprano voice, she has performed roles in her native Spanish and English, as well as German, French and Italian. She is particularly noted in the roles of Susanna, Gilda, Konstanze, Lucia, Manon, Violetta, and Elvira.

Oropesa's trajectory from New Orleans to international prominence began with her 2005 National Council victory and subsequent Lindemann fellowship, culminating in her Metropolitan Opera debut in 2006. Over the following two decades, she has become the preeminent lyric coloratura soprano of her era, commanding the world's greatest stages with a voice of crystalline beauty and technical brilliance, while accumulating major international honors including the Richard Tucker Award, the International Opera Awards Female Singer of the Year, and recognition from the French government as Chevalier de l'Ordre des Arts et des Lettres.
