Ambassador Theatre

The main entrance faces West 49th Street. The theater's Italianate facade is immediately recognizable; arrive from the Times Square-42nd Street subway complex and walk north, or from the Port Authority Bus Terminal (one long block south). Street-level entry is straightforward.

The Ambassador's bar is modest and will be crowded during intermission. Arrive early or stay in your seat. The lobby has limited standing room; expect congestion. The theater's single-stage configuration means no backstage tours or hidden sightlines to explore.

Public Transit

Times Square-42nd Street station (N, Q, R, W, S, 1, 2, 3 lines) is the primary hub—approximately 8 minutes' walk south. The 49th Street station (C, E lines) is one block east. Exit at 49th Street and walk west; the theater is mid-block on the north side of the street.

Parking

Street parking in the Theater District is scarce and metered. The nearest commercial garages are on 50th Street (one block north) and 48th Street (one block south)—typical rates $15–$25 for evening performances. Walk time from most garages is 2–4 minutes. Ride-share drop-off is on West 49th Street directly in front of the theater.
