Tips from the regulars
Entrance
Main entrance on West 47th Street. The theater occupies a historic building in the heart of the Theater District, directly accessible from the street.
Intermission
The Friedman's intimate 650-seat capacity means intermission crowds are manageable compared to larger Broadway houses. The bar area moves quickly. Use the interval to stretch—sightlines are excellent throughout, but the house fills completely during popular productions.
Accessibility
The venue is wheelchair accessible. Contact the box office at friedmanFOH@mtc-nyc.org or +1 212-239-6200 for specific accessible seating availability and accommodations.
Transit, parking & directions
Public Transit
Excellent subway access. Nearest stations: 42nd Street–Port Authority Bus Terminal (A, C, E lines) and Times Square–42nd Street (1, 2, 3, 7, N, Q, R, W lines), both approximately 2–3 blocks away. The 49th Street station (C, E lines) is also nearby. Times Square–42nd Street is the most direct option for most riders.
Parking
Street parking in Midtown Manhattan is notoriously difficult. Nearest parking garages are scattered throughout the Theater District; expect $15–$25+ for evening parking. The walk from most nearby lots is 5–10 minutes. Ride-share drop-off is available on West 47th Street.
