Born from a group of Northwestern University students in 1988, Lookingglass Theatre Company has become one of Chicago's most inventive and physically daring ensembles. The Tony Award-winning company is renowned for its highly theatrical, movement-driven adaptations of literary works, often incorporating circus arts, aerial performance, and water elements into its stagings. Its home inside the historic Water Tower Water Works on Michigan Avenue is itself a theatrical space of extraordinary character. Lookingglass represents the best of Chicago's fearless, ensemble-based theater tradition.
