Minnesota Opera has been a champion of new American opera since its founding in 1963, commissioning and premiering more new works than nearly any company of its size. Performing at the Ordway Center for the Performing Arts in Saint Paul, the company balances its adventurous commissioning program with polished productions of the standard repertoire. Its renowned Resident Artist Program has launched the careers of numerous young singers. Minnesota Opera brings a progressive, intellectually curious spirit to one of the most arts-engaged metropolitan areas in the country.
