The main entrance to David Geffen Hall faces Lincoln Center Plaza from the south. Arrive via the plaza itself (accessible from Columbus Avenue to the west or Amsterdam Avenue to the east) for the full architectural experience. The building's glass facade and public plaza create a ceremonial approach.

The lobby bar on the main floor becomes crowded during intermission. The upper-level bar (accessible via the grand staircase) offers more breathing room and sightlines to the plaza. Restrooms on the orchestra level have shorter queues than those on the main floor. Arrive at intermission early if you plan to purchase a drink.

Public Transit

Subway: 1 train (Broadway–Seventh Avenue Line) stops at 66th Street–Lincoln Center, a 5-minute walk south. The 66th Street station exit deposits you directly onto the plaza. Alternative: A, C, or B trains at 59th Street–Columbus Circle, a 10-minute walk south. For commuters from the east side, the crosstown bus (M66) connects to the Lexington Avenue line.

Parking

Lincoln Center has limited on-site parking. The nearest major garage is the Lincoln Center Parking Garage (enter from 62nd Street between Columbus and Amsterdam), approximately $20–$25 for evening performances. Street parking on the Upper West Side is available but highly competitive. Allow 15–20 minutes to walk from the nearest paid lot. Ride-share drop-off is on Columbus Avenue in front of the plaza.
