The first state-supported symphony orchestra in America, the North Carolina Symphony has served the Tar Heel State since 1932, bringing orchestral music to communities large and small across the region. Based at the Meymandi Concert Hall in Raleigh and the Koka Booth Amphitheatre in Cary, the NCS combines a classical subscription season with extensive touring and one of the most comprehensive education programs of any American orchestra. Its commitment to statewide access reflects a founding philosophy that great music should not be confined to metropolitan centers alone.
