Originally opened in 1918 as the Selwyn Theatre and meticulously restored in 2000 as part of the 42nd Street Development Project, the Todd Haimes Theatre is an Italian Renaissance-style Broadway house operated by the Roundabout Theatre Company. Renamed in 2024 to honor the late artistic director and CEO Todd Haimes, this intimate 740-seat venue features an elegantly appointed auditorium with blue and antique gold detailing and murals by Hungarian artist Willy Pogany. The theatre is celebrated for hosting polished revivals and smart new plays in the heart of Times Square.

The intimate 740-seat auditorium provides excellent sightlines and good acoustics throughout, with each section designed to deliver clear sound and unobstructed views of the stage.

Best Seats

Center Orchestra rows C through H and Center Mezzanine rows A and B offer the ideal balance of proximity and sightlines. Row A of the Center Mezzanine is particularly sought after for its sweeping angles. Avoid Orchestra rows N-P due to mezzanine overhang, far corners, and seats near exits on the right side where street noise may intrude.

Book online. Rooms range from small vocal practice rooms ($15/hr) to large audition rooms. The bulletin board in the lobby has coaching, apartment, and gig listings.
Ripley-Grier Studios
Slightly cheaper than Nola. Good pianos. The 17th floor has the best views.
St. Paul the Apostle Church
Ask at the office about hourly practice room availability. Small donation requested. The sanctuary has extraordinary acoustics.
