Tips from the regulars
Entrance
Coat check: yesThe main entrance faces West 42nd Street directly. Arrive via the 42nd Street-Times Square subway complex (1, 2, 3, 7, N, Q, R, W trains) or the 42nd Street-Port Authority station (A, C, E trains). The theatre is in the heart of the pedestrian crush of Times Square; allow extra time if arriving during peak hours. Street-level entry is straightforward and well-marked.
Intermission
The lobby bar is small and will be crowded during intermission. If you want a drink, order it before the show ends and claim a spot early. The mezzanine has slightly better sightlines and less congestion. Restrooms are adequate but not spacious; use them before the show if possible. The theatre's intimate scale means you're never far from the bar or restrooms, but proximity also means crowds.
Accessibility
The theatre is wheelchair accessible with 4 dedicated wheelchair spaces. Accessible restrooms are available. Hearing loop availability is not documented; contact the box office at +1 212-719-1300 to confirm if you require assistive listening. The theatre's website (roundabouttheatre.org) has detailed accessibility information and a dedicated accessibility contact.
Transit, parking & directions
Public Transit
The 42nd Street-Times Square station (1, 2, 3, 7, N, Q, R, W trains) is the most direct access—exit at the north end of the station and walk north on Broadway or Eighth Avenue. The 42nd Street-Port Authority station (A, C, E trains) is also nearby. The M42 crosstown bus stops on 42nd Street. Allow 10–15 minutes from the subway platform to your seat.
Parking
Street parking in Times Square is nearly impossible. Use a commercial garage: the Port Authority Parking Garage (625 Eighth Avenue, roughly 3 blocks south) or the Midtown East Garage (various locations within a 5-minute walk). Expect $20–$35 for evening parking. Ride-share drop-off is on West 42nd Street directly in front of the theatre, though traffic congestion is chronic.
