Utah Opera has been the Mountain West's leading opera company since its founding in 1978, presenting a season of professionally staged productions that draw audiences from across the Intermountain region. Now merged with the Utah Symphony under the Utah Symphony | Utah Opera umbrella, the company performs at the Janet Quinney Lawson Capitol Theatre, a beautifully restored 1913 venue in downtown Salt Lake City. Utah Opera is celebrated for its high production values, strong young artist program, and commitment to making opera accessible in one of America's most scenic states.
