The Washington Ballet is the premier classical dance company of the nation's capital, performing at the Kennedy Center and other venues across Washington, D.C. Founded by Mary Day in 1976, the company presents a repertoire that ranges from full-length story ballets to contemporary works by today's most sought-after choreographers. Its associated school, one of the oldest ballet academies in the region, trains dancers who go on to careers with companies worldwide.
