Synopsis
The Viennese countess Lisa falls in love with the charming Chinese prince Sou-Chong and follows him to his homeland. In China, she discovers that Sou-Chong must take four wives according to custom, and the cultural divide proves insurmountable. Despite their love, Lisa returns to Vienna, and Sou-Chong is left smiling through his tears in the land where one must always smile.
