Royal Opera House Rusalka

Rusalka, a water nymph, falls desperately in love with a human prince who visits her lake. Yearning to join his world and win his heart, she seeks the aid of Ježibaba, a witch who grants her wish—transforming her into a human woman at the cost of her voice and the ability to return to her water realm. Though the prince initially adores her, he soon becomes enchanted by a foreign princess, leaving Rusalka heartbroken and caught between two worlds. As her human form begins to fail and her supernatural nature reasserts itself, Rusalka must confront the tragic consequences of her desire to transcend her nature and the impossibility of bridging the divide between the mortal and immortal realms.
